Should you read this book?

At the beginning of the book it talks a lot about the medieval life in japan. Along with that it also talk much about how the islands were. What dangers were held on them and how it was difficult to get to certain places due to mountains, or how it was easy to get around with near by river streams. Did you know back then Tokyo wasn't called Tokyo? Well if you didn't now you do. It was known by the name of Edo until an argument disrupted about land. The Edo warriors had lost giving the others the land soon to be renamed Tokyo. Odd for Edo to have even lost, because it was the most populated village in Japan at that time. Just how Tokyo is the most populated city in Japan. The next part is really cool, even back then, that far there was still fake money. Shopkeepers had known about this, some would allow you to use it, some on the other hand would allow you to use it. The currency they used was often a rounded metal coin with a square hole in the middle. The reasoning behind the hole was so the coins could be strung together. The reasoning for the choose in the design of this coin was because it is the same currency as the kind used in China. Since Japan is an isolated country China was their closest supplier and therefor it would have been easier to use the same currency as their supplier. Later on in the book it goes on about the life of warriors, and how there were many different types of warriors. It will discuss all the different types of martial arts, so if you are someone who enjoys that kind of stuff. Just skip the rest to get to there. Though I would recommend reading this piece of writing. At least to those who enjoy the Japanese lifestyle.
